Leonid Shamban, D.O.

Dr. Leonid Shamban D.O. recieved his doctor of Osteopathy from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, East Lansing Michigan.  He is also the clinical associate professor for the college.  He completed his medical training in Internal Medicine at St. John Providence Hospital, Southfield, Michigan.  Dr. Shamban was the Chief Resident during his third year of training.  He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Genesys Regional Medical Center, Grand Blanc, Michigan.

Dr. Shamban has presented and published original papers and abstracts on a variety of topics in internal medicine and gastroenterology.  He is a peer reviewer for various gastroenterology journals.  He also speaks fluent Russian.

Dr. Shamban is Board Certified in the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine.  He is a member of the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Shamban is dedicated to diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, the liver and pancreas.  He has special interests in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases such as Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis and Celiac Disease.

Dr. Shamban practices at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, MI, Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital, in Grosse Pointe, MI, and at the Eastside Endoscopy Center in St. Clair Shores and Macomb Township, MI. His main office practice is located at G.I. Medicine Associates, P.C. in St. Clair Shores, MI.
